Iconography of
The Ring of Truth©
aka The Millennium Icon©

The sacred geometry of the icon has been revealed through an experience of grace. It is based upon concentric circles representing the limited sense of the individual self and the wholeness of the cosmos of which the apparency of the self is an inseparable feature.

The circles may also be seen as zeros, representing the paradox of the coexistence of emptiness and wholeness, known in Taoism as wu q'i and t'ai q'i. Thus we have the metaphysical equation: 0 x 0 =1.

Central to Buddhist cosmology is the notion of sunyata; emptiness. All forms are illusory and the universe is not primarily constructed of physical components, nor are we. But "emptiness" does not mean "nothingness." We are expressions of a dynamic cosmos, empty of any permanent "this-ness" yet full of infinite creative potential and relationality.

The supreme creative organizing force is always ultimately inconceivable and therefore conceptually beyond form and, as confirmed to Moses, unnameable, although nonetheless commonly referred to as "God."

These notions from different spiritual traditions are symbolically melded and represented in the form of the outer circle of the icon. The circular form conveys in two dimensions the idea of absolute and perfect fullness containing all, yet simultaneously empty. This is the image of the fullness of expansion of the self in the attainment of full participation in creation as creation, in nature as nature, all illusions of separation being transcended.

The diameters of the inner and outer circles are in the ratio of 7:1, and therefore the areas are (7x7):1. The seventh dimension of expansion of consciousness is, in esoteric mystical traditions, the representation of the unfolding of the soul's essence on the spiritual journey into higher consciousness and unity with all other beings and the ultimate creative reality.

The heart unfolds like a sine wave through the dualities of self and God, being and nothingness, form and emptiness. It emerges from the center of our being which is the common center of all being. It thus represents love, which is the transformative process though which the self merges with others and ultimately with the supreme creative reality, including each and all and everything, in the realization of the communal, transpersonal nature of creation, of which we are an expression.

Expansion in love is the way to the realization of higher truth in all faiths. It leads us to the awakening to that which we are always already.

There is much more than this which may be understood within the imagery of The Ring of Truth© through meditation upon its form. We hope that this information will serve as a beginning of your own exploration of its meaning and we invite you to share your insights with us as part of the Realisy Fellowship.
